Never Stop Exploring
The universe is made up of stories. Stories that are told through words and images.
I've spent the better part of 50 years with a camera in my hand — my tool for sharing the world the way I actually experience it.
That experience is grounded in something I've believed long before it had a name: there's more honesty in a weathered dock than a polished one, more life in a fogged-over window than a clean one. Call it Wabi-Sabi if you like the word for it — I was drawn to that idea before it became a hashtag. I still am. It's why the tagline on this site is The Art of Life, not The Art of Perfect Life.
These days that eye is pointed mostly at travel — Maine's coast, Iceland's ice caves, wherever the next trip takes me — chasing the large-format fine art prints that are the real reason I still pick up the camera. I teach workshops for the same reason painters take on students: it keeps the craft honest, and it funds the travel. I still take on a limited amount of lifestyle and editorial work, by choice, not by need.
If any of that speaks to you — as a fellow traveler, a student, or someone who wants one of these images on your own wall — I'd like to hear from you.
